Officer(s) Involved: Acting Corporal Compean.
Victim(s): 60 year old Oak View resident.
Suspect(s): 2 Hispanic males, approximately 30-40 years of age, Spanish speaking, black mini van

On March 24, 2006, at 12:00 pm, the victim contacted the Ventura Police Department to report she was the victim of a Lottery scam.
The victim was contacted on the street by the suspect who requested the victim assist him with cashing in a winning Lottery ticket worth $300,000. The second suspect feigned a call to the Lottery board and advised the victim she needed to front the money to secure the cashing of the ticket. The victim was to front $7,000 but her loss was significantly less. The suspects asked the victim to get them some medicine due to an illness. When the victim went into the store the suspects drove away leaving with the victim’s money.
The investigation of this case is on going.
This is the third Lottery scam report this month to occur in Ventura.
